Busy vs. Boredom, Blog Book, Birds, Bacon & Beyoncé

They say that post-graduation is often accompanied by boredom due to endless amounts of free time and such. And yes, that may be partially true, but I have really been enjoying my free time. See! I'm FINALLY designing my blog into a physical book, starting with 2009 and so on.

I love Adobe InDesign :) I'd go with Blurb or some other free internet book-designing software, but I love having complete control of what goes in and what comes out...

Graphic design has turned me into an aesthetic nitpicker. And proud of it :)

Speaking of things I'm proud of, my nephew calls extension cords "extendable" cords ;) And, on Sunday, my other nephew ran around the house singing,

"Weasley is our king! Weasley is our king!"

So, it's safe to say I'm not the only one in my family that has an affinity for Mr. Potter :)

Speaking of dancing... ;)

You: "Who said anything about dancing?"

Me: Oh! Speaking of dancing...

I added "learn how to dance" to my bucket list yesterday.

I mean, I've always been a dance "appreciater," but that's completely different than being a dancer...which is completely different than being able to bust a move here and there...which I can do. So, I wanna learn something cool like hip-hop or tap or ballroom or breakdance.

"Anything is possible if you just believe."

("Cinderella Story" anyone?)

Speaking of possibilities, I'm going to be potentially profound for a moment, mostly because that's how I organize my endless train of thoughts...

I've discovered that it doesn't matter where you are in your life or how busy you may be, if you have a dream, simply take a step toward it in whatever way possible with each spare moment you can find, and by and by, you'll look back and see how far you've come and how much you've grown and...eventually that you've actually LIVED one of your dreams, rather than simply went on dreaming it. I call that "The Nike Point of View". Just do it.

Speaking of Nike... I'm walking out of the gym yesterday morning after a really good workout, wearing my Nike gear, feeling awesome, and guess what smell slaps me right in the face...

BACON.

Yep, from some breakfast bbq taking place at the park next door.

Speaking of bacon (ok, this has nothing to do with bacon)...Ya know how it's been raining the whole entire ocean onto Utah lately?

Yeah, that stinks, cause June is...tomorrow, but I've noticed something happy about the birds (at least the ones around my house). They LOVE this wet weather... At least, their increase of beautiful singing makes me assume they do. Y'know, kinda like how we humans sing in the shower ;)

It's a theory, but I think it's valid.

Speaking of singing, there are very few songs that I can continuously rock out, too...mostly because I get sick of those new, overplayed songs SO quickly. However, Katy Perry's "Firework" and Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" hit me right in the groove thang EVERY time! ;) I can't help but dance and sing-along to those two.

Speaking of Beyoncé, my friend Carrie told me a HILARIOUS joke that I feel needs to be shared with the world, because I honestly laughed all night long post-joke-telling. Ready? K...ah-hem...

I hope, I hope. No offense, but my eyes need a breather. And my brain.

But no break for you. Not yet anyway. Know why? Cause you guys should comment! Now I know that it's not humanly possible for anyone to be on the computer as much as or more than me...because unfortunately my job, my schooling, my calling and the like are computer-based-ish. Don't let regrets seep into your reminiscing, nope nope. Just thoughts of the good things that have been accomplished. The regrets come in when you're doing your goal setting. Can I just say, don't stress yourself out with the goal setting thing? Make a few long term goals and a lot of short term goals. Some easy, some hard. Celebrate your victories and be patient with yourself. 2011 might be just another year that they haven't yet solved world hunger, but it could also be the year you accomplish one of your greatest dreams simply by living life each day to the best of your ability by loving.

After all, LIVING and LOVING are practically the same word.

There are just 1 too many I's in LIVING

Me, myself and I, I, I.

So why not replace it with an O.

O for others. Then, rather than just LIVING,

You're sharing something that we all need...

and that's LOVING.

So, we don't yet have hover cars or robotic housekeeping

And we don't have a world that will keep us from weeping.

But we've got the sun in the morning at the moon at night

And a brand new year to get things right! :)

Time For Change

As you may have noticed, I tried to spiff up my blog a bit…

But all it really accomplished was me getting really sick of the current design.

It's been a while since I've designed a new header,

And well, that's because the current one took forever to illustrate...

But I think I'm ready to let my creative juices flow in a different direction.

So wish me luck as I undertake a new blog design in my spare time...

Which means I'll be done in a few months probably.

Haha.

But seriously.

Dizzy with Busy

I feel like I've abandoned the poor blog lately, but in all honesty my mind is full of nothing but school and the endless responsibilities of a college senior...aka BOR-ING! So, I guess I could've just not written anything at all...but...

...it's too late now :)

P.S. It's rhyming words like "Busy" and "Dizzy" that make me feel bad for people that have to learn English.

Room To Breathe, Room To Grow

Time to take a weeklong vacation from the computer, cause this week is my last full week of being home before I’m San Diegoing and Bear Laking. Before I know it I’ll be back in the full swing of schoolular craziness. Home needs all the attention I have to give. So much good stuff to get done. See y’all next week!

I Like Yous Guys

This week I received (drum roll, please) my very first blog award.

It may not be an Academy Award or mundo prestigious, but it sure means a lot to know that someone out there, a sweet friend in the vast blogosphere, appreciates what I write and maybe even connects a little bit every once in a while.

That is my favorite part about blogging and reading/commenting (hint hint) on blogs: Connecting with people that I wouldn't have ever met otherwise and taking a walk in someone else's shoes. Some of the most fun friendships I have were born RIGHT HERE and I think that is all rather fabulous!

Today, I spent 8 hours stuffing and writing addresses on envelopes for my brother

And that pushed all my other weekly tasks back a little bit

So I'm going to need to take a momentary breather from the blog

Cause I have A LOT to get done before this week can successfully come to an end.
