Muscles, Murder Mysteries, Marine Biology, & Massages

We had a substitute in my spinning class.
She was...well, how do I put this?
...ripped? ...chiseled?

...Mrs. Hercules!

I decided I never (ever!) want to be a body builder.
Someone explain this phenomenon to me. I think it's gross. Sorry.

- - -

So, not only is it FRIDAY, which is reason enough to rejoice in your very existence, but it's also OCTOBER, which month I love. Am I the only one that believes "the holiday season" starts in October or is this a well-known fact?

Halloween through New Years, right? Whoop whoop!

- - -

This week I pre-ordered...
(drum roll, please)

Disneynature's Oceans!

Can I just tell you how excited I am to watch this?

Ah-hem...

I AM SOOO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS!
On Bluray, mind.

Time to overcome my fear of underwater footage.
(yes, let's keep the mocking to a minimum, please)

- - -

I still don’t know what to be for Halloween. I thought being a vampire would be fun until the wave of Twilight hit, now I’m thinking, no thank you.

I want to do something that involves crazy hair and makeup. Any ideas?

- - -

I have a new favorite color: Orange.
Nothing replaces my love for Baby Blue,
But Orange is a close third
...after Gold.
Separately, of course.

- - -

Hair Extensions:
Subtle way to get body
Obviously-fake way to get length

However, sometimes I wish I was brave enough to get extensions,
Cause my hair growth rate is something like 2 centimeters per month!

So, tie-dye seems to have come back in style?
When this happened (or why), I don’t know, but it did!

Either that or there is just a slew of not-so-stylish people walking around campus these days. Did I miss a memo here?

- - -

I love you all and truly value your kind commentations on my behalf,
Let's just put that out there as a disclaimer real quick.

Ok, now that I've said that, I want you to know that my weight loss goal is nothing obsessive or unhealthy and has nothing to do with self esteem issues.

I'd simply like to wear a smaller pants size AND that goal is nothing outlandish or disorderly. In fact, I love myself and have, therefore, done my fair share of "healthy weight" research and am aware of my own physical well-being ...perhaps even more so than you. I know, the thought seems uncanny.

But really, thank you for your sweet concern.

- - -

That said, I've moved my goal completion date to Christmas! A friend of mine made this weight loss goal for himself in what he's calling "Fat Rudolph" and I invited myself to join him for motivation's sake.

The goal was Graduation (May) before, but I found myself being fairly slackadaisical in the "Avoid eating lots-o-junk" category ...So, we'll see how this goes.
Join us if you'd like!

I decided that I’m ok with that fact that it’s been 90 degrees all week. I wasn’t ready for Summer’s luxurious shift to end, but now that it’s October I’m really praying that the snow will stay far far away until December 23-ish. I love Fall!

- - -

I just need to put in another plug for
I’ve got my t-shirt all ready to paint,
I’m just waiting for inspiration to set in.

- - -

I've been planning my family's upcoming Murder Mystery Date Night and it's mucho tricky. In fact, I've discovered that I'm not great at writing murder mysteries, which I suppose I should be happy about.

I mean, I love the genius Agatha Christie novels and all, but I think if I ever met her in person I'd be secretly terrified. Any mind that can think of those kinds of in-depth strategies and conniving plots is admittedly brilliant, but also a fair heap-o-creepy. Just sayin'

- - -

I’ve never had a massage in my life and my reasoning is this:

Ignorance is bliss. Massages are expensive and if I don’t know what I’m missing then I’m less tempted to spend money on it right?

I wish someone had clued me into this theory before giving me chocolate...
Ok, let's be honest, I never would've been able to avoid that!

In my world, chocolate will be healthy...

P.S. Look who got the normal font to work! YAY! The spacing is kinda funky, but I'll deal with that later. At least it's readable, right? :)

A New Obsession

Have you been to this website yet?

Wow, it’s addicting. There's your warning!

Look at all the outfits I made in the past hour J

I’ve decided that when I get to my goal weight and finally get to buy new pants (it's my strange motivation) I’m going to play on this website and really get an idea for what kind of outfits I want to look for. Now, granted, most of the items on Polyvore are way outside of my price range, but I’m confident that my acute bargain shopping capabilities will work to my benefit in finding “similar” items. I guess we'll see, won't we?

BTW, I'm well on my way to reaching my weight goal and it feels SO good.

Ok, yes, I am crazy, but I think I would really like the job of dressing the mannequins at a department store J

Hairy Opinion

So, basically I'm sick of my current hairstyle
(medium length w/fullish bangs)
And I would like your opinion on a new hairstyle.

I think I'm either going short or long,
Because medium isn't cutting it for me lately
(pun intended)

Hair is fun to do experimentations with, cause it grows back.

The only thing about my hair is that it grows really r e a l l y...s l o w l y . . .
And when it gets to a certain length, it just stops growing all together.

*Any tips on speedy hair growth are welcome.

So, here are our options:

If we figure this mathematically, we have 9 options all together:
What should Lindsay's next hairstyle be?
Long w/full bangs
Long w/side-sweep bangs
Long w/no bangs
Medium w/full bangs
Medium w/side-sweep bangs
Medium w/no bangs
Short w/full bangs
Short w/side-sweep bangs
Short w/no bangs

IOU's

I can't quite put my finger on the reason that this week has been so overwhelming,
but it definitely has been one for the record books.

So, in an attempt to get a grip on my crazy life I wrote my list of To Do's.
It is long.

Then I wrote my list of goals.
It is longer.

One life lesson that I've learned more than any other is,
"Take it a day at a time. Don't jump ahead of yourself."
(ahem! to the people playing Christmas music the day after Halloween)

So, I've tried to prioritize the most important things first,
Like the good ol' visual of putting rocks, pebbles and sand in a jar.

If you put the small things in first, there's no room for the bigger things of substance.
(I should talk, I'm writing a blog at 11:06 pm with Typography hanging over my head...I'm learning, ok?)

Doing all the important things has been wonderfully fulfilling,
and yet I still feel a little out of balance.

Like, "Yes, I did my homework, but I didn't get my work out in."

So, here's a list of IOU's for after the week's priorities are completed:

I owe Heather and Joseph a visit to their new house.

I owe my vocal music a great practice session.

I owe my body a Jillian-style workout.

I owe my clean laundry some time in the closet where it actually belongs.

I owe my stomach a Golden Delicious apple (yum!).

I owe my toenails a new coat of nail polish.

I owe my eyes a cat nap.

I owe you all a fantastic post (I'll be thinking).

And while this could go on forever (really, it could)...

I've got a late night date with Typography
and I owe myself a good grade.

Good night!

As Of Late

...life has been good to me!
For more details, read on.

Halloweening
You saw Cruella and Peacock already...

But I wanted to be something else on Halloween itself...so did Nicole.
So here we are as The Bride of Frankenstein and the Angel. I love this costume!

My sister-in-law Kara helped me with this awesome do. Thanks Kara!
It involved: gel, blow drying upside-down, three-barreling upside-down, hairspray, backcombing, hairspray, styrofoam, bobby-pins, hairspray, white temporary hairspray dye...and hairspray. If it wasn't so weird, I'd probably do it more often.
It's strangely addicting having really tall hair!

Bowling
for ward FHE
(more pics here)

Check it out! They heard I was coming so they stamped my name on the bowling balls!
...jk...but I still think they're awesome!

Birthdaying!
Thank you for the kind birthday wishes, everyone!

Feathy Lou and Joseph got me these lovelies and decorated my room all cute and princessly! I decided to keep the streamers up for as long as they'll stay. It's fun walking through them every time I exit and enter my bedroom. Thanks Feath & Joseph!

Madre took me to IHOP for breakfast and got me (drum roll) my very own tennis racket!
So excited to take this to the court and Venus it up! Thanks Madre and Dad!
(not such a good picture, but I'll get some action shots on the court one of these days)

Sir Scott got me some hot chocolate because
a) it's "Italian"
How thoughtful! Thanks Scott!

I made a stop at good ol' Kohl's before I headed to school. Apparently I'm really good at convincing myself that I don't have enough clothes as it is. This is the outcome of yet another successful visit to that oh-so inexpensive addiction of mine, Kohl's. Gotta love cute and cheap!
"It's my birthday present to me! I'm...so...happy!" (name that movie)

Trav took me to a little piece of heaven called The Cheesecake Factory for dunch (or is it linner?) and got me a print of my favorite painting ever, "The Red Kerchief" by Mr. Claude Monet.

Monet finished this portrait of his wife Camilla shortly after she passed away. Thus, the symbolism of their separation with the closed door and her longing glance as she passes by out in the cold. This is one painting that Monet never sold. In fact, it remained at his bedside until he passed away in 1926. I love that story, beautiful! Thanks Travis!

John and I take late night runs to the grocery store to get banana milk on a regular basis and he always gets me a Propel or Fuze whenever I'm not with him.
Thus...his present to me. Thanks Johnny-O!

And...this is what I did with the fam when I finally got home from school at 9pm:
stuffed-crust pizza,
homemade rootbeer,
Biggest Loser,
"Happy Birthday" song,
"For She's a Jolly Good Fellow"
(it's my grandparent's Australian tradition),
blew out candles,
Funfetti cake!!!

It has been a fantabulous week
and it's not over yet!

Have a lovely weekend, cute people! xoxo

Thank you, Oprah!

Guess What

...I'm doing this weekend!

Here are some not-so-subtle hints:

It all starts with one of these...
Catchin' up on some o' dis...
Creating a spin off of this...
Slavin' and droolin' over this...
And losing my voice at one o' these...

pssst...I heart weekends a whole lot...

Happy Weekending E'erybody!

Oh, btw

...I chopped my locks

Well obviously I didn't personally chop my locks
...Cara chopped them for me.
Thanks Cara!

I do like the new do, the only things that gets me is
bangs vs. wind

Seriously!

Where There's a Will

...There's a Way!

I went into Kohl's today, shopped for an hour and half, and left empty-handed!

(cue gasping crowd)

Honestly, Kohl's has some of the cutest dress pants ever.
Really though folks, am I the only one that is secretly obsessed with dress pants?

Think about it: they are comfortable and dressy at the same time and they make your legs look long and lean no matter what size you are. True story!

The only problem with my obsession is that I'm a college student with messy art classes...thus, when do I ever wear dress pants? Yeah, never!

Someday I'll work in a graphic design office or for Pixar and I'll wear dress pants.
Maybe I'll even wear them as a fashionable mom on-the-go.....

Haha, yeah right!

Pretty aren't they?
That is will power my friends!

Redo The Do

I need a new hairstyle badly.
Split-ends, grown-out bangs, and limp layers are taking over my head with a vengeance!

So, here is my solution:

Eva's Layers.......+.......Reese's Bangs.......=.......My New Do

Thoughts?

P.S. What's with all the math equations? (rhetorical question)
