My 3rd Eye - Day 20: Mommy Movie

Yesterday, Madre and I decided to be spontaneous, which is rare for us. Don't get me wrong, I love doing fun things at the drop of a hat, but I'm really bad at it. Maybe it's the perfectionist in me, but I plan things, I don't just go and do things very well...ask any of my friends. However, I am getting better! Last night was another step in the right direction.

We've been wanting to see "Letters To Juliet" since we saw the first preview and we wanted to get out of the house so we decided to get in the car and go to a movie. It was fun to just be with Madre and take a break from John's wedding preparations.

The movie wasn't too shabby either. It was thoroughly heart-warming, mildly predictable and, in my opinion, couldn't have had a more corny ending, BUT I'm not too picky with clean movies these days. Heaven knows they are few and far between. Besides, who doesn't love a little good old-fashioned sappiness (rhymes with happiness) now and then?

Thanks for the spontaneous mommy-daughter night, Madre! I surely love you! :)

I was wondering why you always refer to your mother as madre- I know it means mom in Spanish and just wondered whether you are spanish and that is why you do it...

Haha, that is a great question. It's just part of my quirkiness. I just have strange nicknames for family members and friends. I'm not Spanish at all, that I know of, but 5 of my 6 brothers speak Spanish and that was the language I know the most of, second to English.
