Happy Thoughts

+
Pixie Dust
=
Peter Pan's recipe for Flight

So, I figure, until I discover some place that manufactures pixie dust
(which I'm almost convinced is the powdery substance contained in pixie stix)
I will have to make due flying through life by happy thoughts alone.

Don't look at me like I'm stupid.
It actually works!

"But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?"
~Albert Camus~

I just caught myself thinking

"I can't wait till the weekend THEN I'll be happy."

Dun Dun Dun!
Beware of this thought

As many times as we've tried to convince ourselves that that's just the way that life works,

we are wrong. incorrect. mistaken.
(pick a synonym)

and we're doing ourselves a great disservice
attempting to prove that broken theory over and over again.

It's just a waste of time.
You know, time that could be used being happy, oh I dunno ...NOW!

I know, all you perfect people are thinking, "Duh!" ...and good for you!

Why are you still reading this post?
Go out and teach us other 99.99% of the human population
the secret of your brilliant and carefree ways! We'd be much obliged.

As for the rest of us, my advice is simple:

a) Find at least one thing every day to look forward to. You owe it to yourself.

b) Smile ...you know, that's where you turn up the corners of your mouth. Trust me. It never fails. If you can manage it, laughter is even better ...like smiling, but out loud!

c) Listen to happy music, birds singing, and/or the funny conversations of people around you and breath deeply (fresh air, that is).

d) Don't go searching for happiness, you'll just wear yourself out. It is and always will be found inside of you (hello, corny-side of me).

e) Say a prayer. Even when it seems like no one in the world gives a darn about your lack of happiness, someone always always does.

Need another tip er two?

Don't beat yourself up if you haven't mastered this yet.
There's a reason our founding fathers were inspired to write,

"[all men] are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
That among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..."

Sometimes it takes effort,
The key is to keep pursuing
And don't wait,

Be Happy Now!

Wow, thanks Linds! I needed that, too! Especially the,

"Say a prayer. Even when it seems like no one in the world gives a darn about your lack of happiness, someone always always does."-part.

That's the part that made me a little weepy. :)

Love you!
