My Pedometer says

..."20,655 steps"
(aka 6.5 miles)
and it's only 5:35pm
My daily goal is 10,000...and I hardly get that many
ever!
Needless to say I am exhaustified!

Thank you, San Diego, for providing so many beautiful places to walk and walk. Today Madre and I went to Coronado Island and basically walked from one end to the other...and back.

Oh, and just barely, guess what I saw from my hotel window...
a dolphin swimming in the San Diego harbor!

That made my day,
as did the banana bread pudding we had when we finally got back to the hotel.
MM-hmm-hmm!

Rockstarfish

that was corny huh?

Dear Friends,

I'm writing this like a letter because I feel like you're all so very far away. San Diego is very scenic. This afternoon I walked along the coast with Madre. I didn't know that my hair curls in the humidity. I'm trying to decide if I like that. It is beautiful here! I haven't been here since my brother Jason got married. I believe I was 7 then. The city is astoundingly awesome! We're about to go eat lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. Drinkin' in the whole authentic, fish city experience and...

I am as happy as a clam! :)
Love, Lindsay

P.S. My happy list is featured on Rockstar Diaries! How cool is that? See my happy list here
Thanks Naomi!

Peace Out

...that's how they say it in California...I'd imagine :)

That's right folks,
I'm headed off to San Diego for the week!
I am so excited!

Me + Cali = Happy

I'll be back with great pictures and stories to share!

Have a wonderful week!

Charles Schulz Philosophy

I received the following in an email and deemed it profound enough to share with all of you:

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the Peanuts' comic strip.
You don't have to
actually answer the questions.
Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.
These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

Celebratory

...what a great word,
(especially when said with a British accent)

This weekend was the celebration of my favorite Summer holiday in Utah,

First, the Bountiful Handcart Days Parade with my family:

This was my view from the curb. They throw pounds of candy, hence the children...

My friend Adam was sitting across the street, so he came over and visited

Second, the Mueller Park fireworks:

Third, the Bountiful Carnival with Jalene, Devin and Andy:

What a happy weekend...
thanks to the pioneers and their sacrifice in traveling across the plains to the Salt Lake Valley!

Happy belated 24th of July!

Late Lagoon, Early June

This is a long-awaited blog post to which I have no excuse except that I often forget about my Point & Shoot. So, yesterday when I uploaded the sunset picture, I found these beauties and thought I'd share them! Thank you Photoshop for helping me to not hate Point & Shoot so much, he's really not that bad! Sorry I misjudged you Point & Shoot, for what it's worth, I love your stellar macro abilities!

Enjoy!

There's only one one one one one Lagoon!

BTW, my friend Jalene featured me on her blog today. You'll find it here! Thanks Jalene!
