Heartstrings of the Week: Because, I Love Her

I. Love. Barbra.

That's pretty much all there is to it.

However, I probably should also mention that I VERY much adore this song, too! I mean, it's called "People!" What's not to love? Listen to the words. It's so great!

 My goodness, woman!

Yeah, I must warn you though...the movie this song is from, "Funny Girl", is...strange.
Well, it's good, like, it has it's moments...but it's mostly strange.

However, if you haven't seen "What's Up, Doc?" with Barbra and Ryan O'Neal and Madeline Kahn...This needs to be amended pronto. You'll thank me!

Here are some of my favorite quotes...which may or may not make sense.

- - -

Howard: "I am not repeating myself. I am not repeating myself..."

Howard: "How...? How...?"
Judy: "How-ward! Howard. We've almost got that stutter fixed."
Howard: "You...? You...?"
Judy: "Eu-nice! Eunice."

Hugh: "I am Hugh."
Judge: "You are me?"
Hugh: "No, I am Hugh."
Judge: "Stop saying that. Make him stop saying that!"

Judy: "Howard Bannister...as in sliding down the..."

Eunice: "As the years go by, romance fades
and something else takes its place.
Do you know what that is?"
Howard: "Senility?"
Eunice: "Trust!"
Howard: "That's what I meant."

Howard: "Is that clear?
Judge: "No, but it's consistent."

Delivery Boy: "They stole my bike!"
Judge: "That's grand theft auto."
Eunice: "They tried to molest me."
Judge: "That's...[looks at Eunice]...unbelievable."

Yeah, I could pretty much quote that whole movie.
SO FUNNY!

Anyway...

Over and out!

Know What I Think Is Cute?

That fact that Tia is prego and Tamera is married.
And that Mr. Jose Villa shot her wedding.

I've never been a big "gossip column" or "celebrity lookout" girl. Seriously, I didn't even know Jennifer and Brad had broken up till Brad and Angelina had adopted their third child ;) But I saw these photos in my internet wanderings and it made me smile.

Like, we grew up with these girls on "Sister, Sister"!
Haha, wow. I loved that show. Mostly their college days.

Anyway, that just struck me as cute. Yes random, but cute.

Annnnnnnnnd...while I'm being random,
Here's another plug for my favorite photographer Jose Villa!

Ok, I'm done.

The Truth About Albus Dumbledore

This has been bugging me for a while,
so I thought I'd finally get on imdb and figure it out:

Best Dumbledore ever, in my opinion,
Played by Richard Harris

(My goodness! You honestly can't beat this guy!)

Who also played the part of The Priest in The Count of Monte Cristo

Then, after Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, he unfortunately passed away and his large shoes were left to be filled by the feet of Michael Gambon.

Who, contrary to popular belief does NOT play the part
of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings. That is, in fact, Ian McKellen.

Whom you may also know as Magneto from X-Men.

Not to be confused with Peter O'Toole or Patrick Stewart or Richard Attenborough or Santa Clause...or any of those amazingly talented old men that tend to look alike.

Phew! Glad we got that solved.

Lindsay Levi

...that has a nice ring to it, eh?

Speaking of rings!

I'M ENGAGED TO ZACHARY LEVI!

...and on April Fools Day, too.
Hm, what are the odds of that happening...

Celebrity Confusion

These 3 Women,
If I didn't actually do this search for them on Google,
I'd think they were the same person...at first glance anyway.

Can you name who they are?
(answer at the bottom)

Yes the fact that they all have the same hair style helps...

But then you look at their
Hair color,
Eye color,
Noses,
Eye shape
Cheek bones,
Face shapes.

Pretty sure they're triplets
Or something.

Cue: Twilight Zone music.

Mr. Shia LaBeouf

Pronunciation: SHY-uh luh-BUHF

I have a confession to make. I've had a crush on Shia LaBeouf since I was like 11. It all started with the best show that has ever aired on the Disney Channel:

EVEN STEVENS

This is one of many episodes I found in my searchings on YouTube last night. Other favorites include: Influenza: The Musical and the one where Twitty and Louis jump in a dumpster full of recycled foam after school...oh, and the one where Louis is home schooled and performs Romeo & Juliet for his mom.

My goodness, he's hilarious.
And he's not too hard on the eyes either ;)

Because You Can When You're Single

I've been sending out mass texts to my whole ward the past few days... Therefore I've been looking at a lot of rare and fascinating surnames. It's got me thinking, what would be THE cutest combo with my first name?

Here's what I've come up with:

LEE
Lindsay Lee.

Doesn't that sound like a clothing designer or something?
How bout a world famous graphic designer? Eh? Eh?
Hey, I can dream!

Then again, it reminds me of Kathy Lee Gifford. Meh.

BLOOM
Lindsay Bloom.

I'm just sayin'.
Orlando may come to his senses one day.

VANDERBILT
Lindsay Vanderbilt

Let's be honest,
Anyone sounds good with that surname.

Ok, last one:
McFUSTEN
Lindsay McFusten

I might've just made that up,
But you have to admit, that's a fun combo.

So, if you know any upstanding gentlemen with these last names, send 'em my way ;)

But really, Can I just say I think if there were a prize for dating guys with unusual names (first & last) it would be on my trophy shelf (not that I have one of those)! Check out this list of names I've been on dates with:

(last name) Freckleton
(first name) Bleu
(first name) Creighton
(first name) Cree
(last name) Pitt
(last name) Kawabata
(last name) Twitchell
(last name) Sengthavechith

The funny thing is, the top three were set-up by the same cousins... Hmm...

Now, I hope you don't think I'm making fun of these names (or the great men behind them) in any way. I'm not. People with unusual names are awesome!

I now deem it fitting to quote "Romeo & Juliet":

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet..."

Then again, my sister once dated someone whose mom's name was, ah-hem, Patricia Burger... They called her Patty for short. Now THAT is cruel. Luckily, it was her maiden name.

Ah! Now that's a good lookin' name! ;)

I Think I'm In Love

Hey guys,

Just a little update on the fabulous day I'm having today.

I received a call this morning from James (you know, James Marsden).
He invited me to fly with him to Italy for the day on his private jet.

So apparently his jet is super fast, cause we've been soaking up some sun here on the beach all afternoon (no snow!) and eating gelato.

James was even so kind as to buy me my dream car: a Mini Cooper convertible.

We stopped in Rome on James' scooter to visit the Colosseum and to get some lunch.

We even got a customized postcard from a vendor at the Colosseum.

After we're done in Rome we're taking James' yacht over to Venice for dinner and a serenaded gondola ride. James is a great singer.

Hope you're enjoying your April Fools Holiday as much as we are!

Ciao for now!
(soon to be Marsden) ;)

Heartwarming

Today I got an email from Dad. He's in Florida with Madre on an annual business trip. A business trip, mind you, that is usually the same week as Fall Break. This year, to my dismay, was different. So the parentals are Floridizin' it up, basking in the sun of that man-made beach at the Disney World Resort smack dab in the middle of that oh-so quant dreamland that I love!

Photos from last year's fabulous Florida extravaganza:
This was the first real vacation that I went on with my new SLR.
As you can see, I got some good practice.
The ever-so quaint Boardwalk. Seriously, Disney Heaven...*sigh*

See, I always take pictures of squirrels!
Park-hoppin passes...feel the power!
Check out our sweet jumpin' skills. Aerosmith's Rock & Roller Coaster!
A dash of Star Wars...for John. I love my siblings!
Of course the lobbies have furniture like this, it's Disney!

Me? I'm here in the beautiful but brisk Autumn weather, going to school, working, and just being plain busy. Not a favorable alternative to Disney Heaven in my opinion. I'm sure missing Orlando a lot, and for once I'm not talking about Orlando Bloom.

So, to pick myself up out of the beginning stages of a pity party, I've decided to write a grateful list. Have I ever shared with you what I love about cold weather?
No? Well good heavens, I shall tell you.

I love bundling up in blankets, crackling fires, mini-mallows in hot cocoa, doing dishes in hot soapy water, pulling out winter clothes, space heaters, sunshine through the window, warm bubble baths, mittens, fuzzy socks, seeing my breath, reading in bed, pink fuzzy robe, warm hugs, wearing sweats to bed, cute but not-so-waterproof boots . . .

Can you think of anything I left out?
I love y'all!

I Heart His Face

I kid you not,
at the U of U Institute Trax station today!

I must've stared for like 15 minutes straight and almost ran into a pole.
His friends just kept looking at me like, "You're an idiot."
My internal response was, "Cello! Your friend is a freakin' celebrity, of course I'm staring!"

There is one thing I forgot to do in all my twitterpated discombobulation however...
I didn't get his autograph!
I didn't even walk up and tell him how cool I think he is!

Dear David,
If you're reading this (hey it could happen) I heart your stellar vocal skills hardcore! Now, I realize I am too old for you, so I'll stick to drooling over Josh Groban, but know that I voted for you over and over every night of season 7 and I think you are a great example to the world that you can be adorably innocent and incredibly cool at the same time! Keep changing the world!

Your Friend (hey it could happen),
Lindsay Kay

P.S. My nieces are in love with you!
